Music Program

Instrumental Music

Ruskin is very fortunate to have instrumental music classes for students in grades 3-5.  The continuance of our Music program is due to the generous support of the Berryessa Music Boosters and parents.

Third graders start with basic music concepts and playing violin.  The difference between the start of the year and the concerts in Winter and Spring is quite remarkable!

In grades 4 and 5, students have greater choices in instruments.  Some students may choose woodwinds, while others may choose brass instruments, or may keep playing violin.  Also, cello and bass can be started in 4th or 5th along with the band instruments.

An unbelievably large portion of Berryessa's Music Programs is funded with donations from the Berryessa Music Boosters and parents. The Boosters hold the annual Berryessa Art & Wine Festival every summer to raise funds for the district's various music programs.
