How Can You Help?

Make a Committment to Positive Leaning
- All families can help our class be super successfull! The one thing that all families can do is to encourage a positive learning environment. All children learn and succeed in different ways. It is important to recognize the strengths and weaknesses that your child has and help support each areas. Always encourage positive effort regardless of the outcome. Provide your child with the opportunity to explore and play in ways that require imagination and physical effort. The more your child explorers his/her world the more they will be open to learning. Let's committ to fostering life long learning in every child.
Help in the classroom
- Photocopy
- Read to the class
- Organize projects or class parties
- work with small groups in reading, math or science
- chaperone fieldtrips

Donate Classroom Supplies
As you are aware our classroom budgets are very limited and we are always in need of extra classroom supplies throughout the year. If you can help with any of these extra items that would be great.
- Playground equipment - frisbees, jumpropes, balls etc...
- Copy paper - white
- Paper Towels
- Clorox Wipes
- Books
Join the PTA
Last year we had 12 parents and teachers who regularly attended PTA meetings. With more than 600 students at Ruskin it is a shame to have so few voices to help shape our school. PTA meetings are held once a month and last about one hour. All parents are welcome. The PTA does such great things and they really need support. So please join the PTA and come to the meetings! I am the Secretary of the PTA this year and I hope to see all of you at the meetings.
