Is Your Kinder REALLY Ready? (.pdf)

Welcome to the exciting world of Kindergarten!  Our students are encouraged to do what they do best, which is explore and make meaningful discoveries.  Every student is an important member in our child-centered classroom communities.

We provide a safe and supportive atmosphere where learning rises above the challenges of educating all students. Our Houghton Mifflin curriculum series focuses on learning letters, their sounds and simple sight words. With the Harcourt Math, we explore geometry, numbers, time and money. The Scott Foresman Social Studies series covers Now and Long Ago, National Symbols and Citizenship. Science, by Houghton Mifflin, covers each of our Five Senses, Land Forms and Plant Growth. We supplement these district adopted series with learning centers, innovative teacher made curriculum,  current research based instructional techniques, and  technology that responds to every child's sense of curiosity, imagination, and wonder.

Kindergarteners love to explore the world of 'real school' together. We provide all students with the essentials for physical, emotional, and academic growth through a variety of hands-on activities.  Here, theater, dance, dress-up, housekeeping, student made projects, and cooperative play are just a few of the ways that our students are actively involved in their learning.

Using differentiated instruction, we are responsive to the individual needs of our students.  We are here to help them embrace knowledge and become happy life long learners. We acknowledge that small ideas really can change the world!
